This might ruffle a few feathers…

I don’t believe women should automatically be prescribed HRT simply because they’ve entered perimenopause.

And before anyone jumps in with “but HRT changed my life” - wonderful. I’m genuinely glad it did.

This isn’t about taking that away from you. But I know you could be feeling better. Because I see it on the daily.

It’s about asking some questions that I don’t think we’re asking loudly enough.

Where is the long-term research following women who START hormone replacement while they’re still menstruating and continue for the next 10, 15 or 20 years?

There isn’t any.

And what happens when we treat a natural hormonal transition as something that automatically needs replacing?

And why aren’t we spending just as much time teaching women how to support their nervous systems, metabolic health, sleep, stress response and changing hormonal needs?

Yes, HRT may be a tool in your toolkit. But it may only take you so far.

Women deserve solutions from debilitating symptoms.

But perimenopause isn’t a hormone deficiency diagnosis simply because you’ve turned 40.

Your hormones are changing. Your body is adapting. And there is so much we can do to support that process.

I see women every week who have been made to feel terrified of what’s coming. That their bodies are failing them. That they’re destined for weight gain, poor sleep, anxiety and a long list of symptoms unless they intervene.

I don’t believe fear should be driving these decisions.

I believe in informed choices, individualised care and giving women the tools to understand their bodies before assuming there’s only one solution.

And if you’ve chosen HRT? This isn’t an attack on your decision.

It’s a challenge to the idea that every woman needs to make the same one.

**It’s really not as hard as they’re having you think it is.**

Follow along if you want a different conversation about perimenopause.

It’s officially boots n fur season🐆

Just a reminder: THIS is normal. 🤍

What you see on stage is a temporary version of our bodies. A physique achieved after months of preparation, strict dieting, carefully managed nutrition, and a level of physical and mental stress that is simply not meant to be maintained all year round.
And I think it’s important to show this side of bodybuilding, too.
Because when you see athletes on stage or on social media, it’s easy to assume that this is how we look every single day. That we wake up this lean, stay this defined all year, and that this is what a fit, healthy body is supposed to look like.

But the reality is very different.

Outside of competition prep, we eat more, fuel our training properly, recover better, and allow our bodies to function without the constant pressure of getting leaner and leaner. We can still train hard, build muscle, stay disciplined, and take our sport seriously without living in an extreme calorie deficit or chasing stage condition every single day.

My current physique is not a step backwards. It’s a necessary part of being an athlete, taking care of my health, and building a body that can perform, grow, and be sustainable in the long run.

Being fit doesn’t mean being stage-lean 365 days a year. And being a bodybuilder doesn’t mean your life has to revolve around maintaining a competition physique.
I love what I can achieve on stage, but I also respect what my body needs outside of it.
Let’s normalize seeing athletes in their off-season, too. Not every physique needs to be stage-ready to be strong, aesthetic, and impressive.
Your stage look is temporary. Your health matters all year round❤️
