#noisetalks #fortheloudtothethoughtful #bali #pertamina #bbm

Research on sensory processing shows that adults experience a measurable shift in auditory sensitivity after age 25, with the ability to distinguish speech from background noise declining steadily each decade. A 2018 study from the National Institute on Deafness tracked 2,400 participants and found that the average person requires 6 to 8 decibels more volume by their mid thirties to achieve the same comprehension level they had at twenty. This change often goes unnoticed until media consumption highlights it, such as turning on closed captions during shows or conversations in noisy rooms. The same data set revealed that people who begin using visual text aids report 34 percent higher satisfaction with dialogue heavy content. Those who resist the switch frequently underestimate how much cognitive effort their brain now expends decoding muffled speech. Save this for the next time you reach for the remote. #subtitles #aging #sensoryprocessing #millennialproblems #hearingloss
