Visited an old friend with my new friend, lol 😅

Growing up, I was that kid who would cry if you didn’t let her stay alone to read her book. “Daddy, them Bro A. dey disturb me, I wan read my book.” That was me. crying real tears😌

I read anything I could find: Christian books, adult books, random novels, even the atlas, just so I could explore the world and argue with my dad about countries I’d never been to. I was that 6-year-old girl living inside her own little world of words and imagination.
Books were my friend. Honestly, my only real friend.
But somewhere along the way, I left my old friend behind, you know, to go where the money’s at. Life happened. Hustle took over🥴

Lately though, I’ve been feeling that tug again, that soft nudge from my old friend. Maybe adulthood is finally humbling me🫠

So yesterday, I took my new friend to meet my old one. We went to a bookstore.
And honestly, I don’t think they liked each other much, but they’re trying to get along.

Just one of those weird little things about meee.
