An 18-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being shot inside an Annapolis residence Monday evening. A juvenile was detained at the scene as authorities work to determine what happened. The shooting was reported shortly after 5 p.m. on November 2 at a residence in the 900 block of Royal Street. Responding officers discovered the young woman with a gunshot injury to her head. Emergency responders from the Annapolis Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance before she was transported by helicopter to a nearby trauma center. As of the latest update from police, the victim remained in critical but stable condition. A juvenile boy was taken into custody at the residence. Police have not released his identity or provided details about his possible involvement in the shooting. Investigators are working to establish the circumstances that led to the gunfire.
