Peak detailing is peaking! The new Ramayana trailer has details that are easy to miss. Some go all the way back to ancient texts. ๐Ÿ‘€ Nitesh Tiwariโ€™s Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, looks set to tell a bigger story than the battle we already know. Take Ravana. The trailers hint at his rise to power, including his confrontation with Indra, king of the devas. In Ramayana traditions, Ravanaโ€™s conquests also involve his half-brother Kubera, the god of wealth, from whom he seizes Lanka and the Pushpaka Vimana. Imagine seeing the making of the villain before his eventual defeat. Then thereโ€™s Ramaโ€™s archery. In Valmikiโ€™s Aranya Kanda, Sage Agastya gives Rama a divine bow associated with Vishnu, a sword and TWO quivers with an inexhaustible supply of arrows. So those endless arrows on screen could be a reference to scripture, rather than cinematic exaggeration. And remember the battle against 14,000 rakshasas led by Khara? It happens in Dandaka forest, long before the final war with Ravana. The music deserves a second listen too. The repeated โ€œkshamaโ€ (forgiveness) in the trailer could be read as a contrast to the violence on screen. Itโ€™s a beautiful interpretation, although the filmmakers havenโ€™t confirmed it. But the portrayal Iโ€™m most curious about is Sita. New footage shows her fighting back, a change from how sheโ€™s often depicted. Different Ramayana traditions portray her power differently. In the Adbhuta Ramayana, Sita takes a fierce form and defeats a thousand-headed Ravana. That doesnโ€™t establish formal combat training in Valmikiโ€™s text, but it shows how many layers her character has. With music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, there are more details to decode before the November 5 release. What hidden reference did YOU spot? Lifting heavy weights will improve your bone density. A lot of the recommendations for โ€œheavy weightsโ€ means above 80 percent of your max. To put it simply, thatโ€™s what you can lift for 6 reps or less. It places a high mechanical load on the bone and signals your body to build stronger, denser bones. This is especially important for menopausal women and anyone wanting to age with strength and independence. But, you canโ€™t walk into the gym on day one and lift that heavy. Even if your goal was to become the strongest powerlifter on the planet, I would never start you at 80 percent. To lift heavy safely and effectively, you first need to: โ€ข Learn how to lift with proper technique โ€ข Build work capacity โ€ข Build muscle and prepare your joints and connective tissues for higher loads Lifting heavy is one of the best things you can do for bone health and longevity. But there is a process to earn the right to go heavy.
