Dad, writing this still doesn’t feel real. I can’t understand why God took you from us so early, but I find peace knowing you’re resting peacefully and watching over us. Today is your birthday and celebrating you is so different this year. You were always so proud of me, and I hope I continue to make you proud. Dad, I’m going to miss you more than words can ever explain. I love you so much papi Rest in peace. 🤍🕊️
The dress that went viral at NYFW. 👀🍊 A must have✨ You know I had to style it my way. Statement sleeves, an orange-and-white print, and olive accessories to bring it into fall. 🧡 @asakeoge definitely understood the assignment with this masterpiece Would you wear this look? Well, this has popped off on Threads, so I thought I’d bring it here too, with a little Bible study of our own Obviously, the carousel is tongue in cheek. I have a lot of respect for people of all faiths, and this isn’t about having a go at Christians. What I loathe is seeing Christianity, and the Bible, manipulated to justify hatred and division. There’s a difference between being Christian and Christian nationalism. Christian nationalism is a political movement that uses Christianity to claim that a country, its laws and its identity should belong to one particular version of Christianity. It often seems to come with a very selective reading of the Bible: lots of certainty about who to condemn or exclude, and much less to say about welcoming the stranger, caring for people in need or loving your neighbour. I can’t imagine that good Christians look at the Bible and find Jesus condemning people for seeking safety or a better life. When politicians use Christianity to turn people against immigrants, LGBTQ+ people or other marginalised groups, it feels like faith is being used as a cover for division. We see that same convenient reach for religion elsewhere, too, including men accused of violence against women suddenly presenting themselves as godly men. Proverbs literally names stirring up division as something the Lord hates, and yet people who stir up culture wars claim to care about Christian values. So perhaps before using the Bible to decide who deserves compassion, it’s worth asking whether our own actions are bringing people together or turning people into targets. Party leaders who preach Christian values while stoking hatred towards people on benefits or people because of their immigration status might want to ask themselves the same thing. Anyway, welcome to the book club. We’re just looking at a few passages that seem to get missed when people are busy telling everyone else what “Christian values” mean.
The Patna High Court has overturned a man’s attempted rape conviction in a 2010 case, ruling that the evidence did not establish an overt act towards penetration. The court upheld his convictions for outraging a woman’s modesty and house-trespass, reduced his sentence to the period already served and ordered him to pay ₹25,000 as compensation to the victim. #patna #women #justice #india #mews
The reason your videos don’t hold attention, it’s because you’re making one of these 5 storytelling mistakes. And these are all pretty nonobvious unless you really know what you’re doing. Over the last 3 years, I’ve spent thousands of hours building my storytelling system that solves for these 5 things and works for every niche and format. This is the secret sauce I’ve been using to scale this channel from 0 to 150,000 followers in less than 6 months… And not only did these videos drive tons of followers, but they also drove 50,000 emails, and over $250K in attributable revenue… All because of this one storytelling system. This Friday, I’m kicking off a 4 week content growth challenge where you can learn this entire storytelling system and post your next 10 videos using it. The challenge is called Short Form Launch. If you want to improve your storytelling in content and really unlock more growth over the next few months, this is designed specifically for you. Doors open this Friday, October 16, and the waitlist is gonna access first. Comment LAUNCH and I’ll put you on the waitlist.
