EFCC Arraigns Three Men for Allegedly Impers%nating Blogger TundeEdnut and Obtaining Over ₦18.2 Million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has accused three men of allegedly imperson@ting Nigerian blogger Tunde Ednut to obtain ₦18.2 million from unsuspecting members of the public.

The defendants, Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim, were arraigned before Justice S. O. Ibrahim of the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged cybercr+me, conspiracy, imperson@tion and obtaining money by false pretence.

According to the charge, the alleged offences occurred between April and June 2026, when the defendants allegedly used the identity of Adekunle Tunde Olaoluwa, popularly known as Tunde Ednut, to open bank accounts and obtain ₦18,264,700.

Count two of the charge reads: “That you Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim (now at large) between April and June 2026 at Abuja… with the intent to defr@ud, did fr@udulently imperson@te one Adekunle Tunde Olaoluwa, popularly known as Tunde-Ednut and in that assumed character opened bank account in different banks in Nigeria and you obtained a total sum of N18,264,700… from unsuspecting members of the public…”

The charge states that the alleged offence contravened the Cybercr+me (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty. Prosecution counsel, Elizabeth Alabi, asked the court to remand them at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending trial.

Justice Ibrahim ordered their remand and adjourned the case until November 17, 2026.

The defendants have not been convicted and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Good morning. 🤍 Give yourself permission to get back to yourself. Life is about learning every day, growing through every challenge, and becoming someone you’re proud of. Sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones that teach you the most about who you are and what you truly want. Keep focusing on your dreams, keep working on yourself, and keep choosing happiness. People will always feel comfortable commenting on your body, your appearance, your insecurities, and the things they think you should change, but it’s important to remember that everyone has something within themselves they could be working on. Don’t let someone else’s projection distract you from your progress. You know what you’ve overcome. You know how far you’ve come. Keep becoming, keep healing, keep learning, and keep choosing you. The goal is to look up one day and realize you built the life you once dreamed about. 🤍
