Another goldmine of info. I got paid similar for my craft books in the early 2010s. Full colour obv so it's not just cook books! Can't believe it's barely changed.

Very good advice, thank you! I would add that it’s important to make things as easy as possible for the publisher (due to the perceived risk) so keeping to deadlines, providing right format promptly, being generally easy and pleasant to work with (while also advocating for what you need) is all important.
