I generally didn’t have the guts to listen to this little princess’ interview. The story is too disheartening. But a simple Google search broke me even further. The economy is deteriorating, and rape cases are on the rise. See for yourself:
Between 2020 and 2022, reports of gender-based violence in Nigeria rose from 29% to 65%.
By 2024, over 1.4 million Nigerians had been affected. In Lagos alone, more than 9,000 cases were documented, and over 3,000 involved minors.
Over 3,000 minors. Ha! This shouldn’t be another hashtag. Gosh. And remember, a lot of people don’t even speak out because of stigmatization.
There’s currently another complain from a 15 year old child being forced to marry a 56 years old man.
How do men even find underaged girls attractive?
