Playing in front of a full stadium made me incredibly happy. Thank you for your amazing support.💙

I sincerely apologize for what happened during the away game, especially for showing that behavior in front of the children watching us.🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

Thank you for all the messages and concerns. We have talked things through and made peace.

Football is about passion, respect, and unity. I will learn from this experience and continue moving forward positively.

Thank you for your support.

Debt Is Worse Than Leprosy. It Destroys Generations — Former President Obasanjo lambasts Pres. Tinubu Over his stance on Borrowing

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s stance on borrowing, describing the comparison of debt with leprosy as absolute nonsense.

Obasanjo made the remarks on Friday at the Ajibosin Platform, a public forum held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where discussions centred on leveraging artificial intelligence to address grassroots challenges and drive national development.

In April, Tinubu defended his administration’s decision to borrow when necessary, insisting that borrowing should not be treated as something shameful.

“ If we have to borrow, we borrow. Borrowing is not leprosy, we just have to work hard to be able to pay for it,” the president had said.

However, reacting to the statement, Obasanjo argued that the consequences of excessive borrowing extend beyond individuals and could burden future generations.

“And for anybody to say debt is no leprosy, is absolute nonsense. Debt is worse than leprosy. Because leprosy destroys only one person. Debt destroys generations,” he said.

The former president also expressed concern over Nigeria’s economic decline, particularly the depreciation of the naira, recalling that the currency exchanged at N1 to $1.85 when he established his farm 47 years ago.

“When I started my farm, 47 years ago, naira to the dollar was one naira to $1.85. Forty-seven years ago. What has Nigeria done in 47 years that we now have 1,500 naira to the dollar? What have we done?” he queried.

He further questioned the knowledge and decision-making capacity of Nigeria’s political leaders, asking, “What do our leaders know? And what do they not know? And from what they know, what can they do for us?”

“World Bank and IMF were not designed for us. They were not built by us. They were built before we became independent. And that’s the people who would determine what we do,” he said.

He cautioned against blindly implementing economic recommendations from foreign-trained experts without considering Nigeria’s unique circumstances.

👇 Here’s the harsh truth

PPIs like Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, and even Tums don’t actually stop reflux… they only reduce acid levels.

For someone like me, whose main issue was a weak LES, PPIs barely helped.

I still had reflux, heartburn, throat irritation, and heaviness in my chest.

Let me explain this in a way no doctor ever explained to me…

Imagine your stomach is a water bottle.

And the LES is the bottle cap.

If the cap is loose, the water leaks out…

not because the water is “too acidic”

but simply because the cap isn’t closing properly.

Your LES works the same way.

If it’s weak, loose, or under pressure… stomach contents can leak upward.

That’s exactly why acid-reducing pills don’t truly stop reflux.

For years, I didn’t understand that… and my symptoms just kept getting worse.

PPIs also made me super bloated (they slow digestion), I had brain fog all day, my energy crashed, and my motivation tanked.

It affected my work, my social life, everything.

So I started experimenting with my meals to find relief.

And that’s when I noticed something crazy…

Some meals triggered nothing at all

while others made me miserable

One thing stood out…

The texture of your meal matters as much as the food itself.

When meals were too liquidy… they flowed back up easily and hit my weak LES.

When meals were too dense… I’d get indigestion, heaviness, and burning.

But when meals were not too runny and not too heavy…

my symptoms dropped dramatically.

Because the makeup of your meals also matters, and that’s different for everyone.

Here’s a simple checklist to help you build your perfect reflux-friendly meal 👇

Lean Protein

low-fat chicken, lean red meat, fish, tofu, vegan protein powders

Good Fiber

cooked carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, plus fruits like blueberries, strawberries, bananas

Good Fats (small amounts)

walnuts, almonds, avocado, coconut oil, olive oil

Complex Carbs

quinoa, oats, etc.

If you’re tired of trying to figure this out alone

if you want to wake up without pain, enjoy meals without fear, and finally feel normal again
