So what actually works? with @jimcurtis1 Focusing on the best case scenario. Breaking the negative thought loops. And compassionate questioning of old narratives. All of these little tools might be small, but done over and over again create big change.

In 1969, two friends walked into Harrods and bought a lion 🦁 No, really. Back then, Harrods had an exotic animals department where you could buy almost anything. Two young Australians named John and Ace saw a 3-month-old cub in a cage and walked out with him. They named him Christian. For a year, Christian lived in their London flat. He slept on their bed. He played in churchyards. He had a regular table at a Chelsea restaurant. He even chased footballs with kids on the street. But he kept growing. 35 pounds. 100. 185. Eventually they knew they couldn’t keep him. So they flew him to Kenya and released him into the wild with a conservationist named George Adamson. A year later, John and Ace went back to find him. Everyone said don’t bother. He’s a wild apex predator now. He won’t remember you. He could kill you in seconds. They went anyway. When Christian saw them across the savannah, he froze. Then he ran full speed. And when he reached them, he stood on his back legs, wrapped his paws around their shoulders, and nuzzled their faces — exactly like he used to as a cub on their bed in Chelsea. The lionesses came too. Christian had told them: these humans are family. Love doesn’t forget. Not even in the wild 🦁 Tag someone who needs to feel something today. #ChristianTheLion #TrueStory #AnimalStories #1969 #LoveAlwaysReturns
