Cassandra Miller’s “for mira” is one of those pieces that will forever have a place in my heart. When we met this summer in Darmstadt, I asked her how she viewed the development of the theme: is it something that’s being rediscovered, or something thay is being destroyed? “That depends on your relationship with death” was her answer.
There is still a long way for me to go when it comes to violin playing, and I can only hope this piece will grow with me and I won’t ever stop finding new versions of it within myself
