A new day comes with so many wonderful surprises, and today it gifts me another day on set! I’m always so happy to be a part of the wonderful projects that give way to more stories.

Who will I be today?

To my human, who abandoned me…

I hope you are doing okay .

When you left me in that hotel room, my paws were bleeding. My eyes hurt. I was frightened, and I didn’t understand why you weren’t coming back.

I ended up in a shelter. Kind people gave me food, shelter, and medical care. Some wanted to help me. But others saw my fear and pain and called me “aggressive.”

That evening, I was scheduled to be euthanized the next morning. I wasn’t even given a full night.

Then someone kind told a woman about me. She had come to pick up another cat. She wasn’t there for me…but she took me home, too.

You know her now as my assistant.

Within fifteen minutes, I was purring and making air biscuits. That part of me had been there all along. Someone finally stayed long enough to meet him.

I’ve since had surgery for my painful eyes, and I’m healing. But I still get frightened sometimes. I wish I could explain what scares me. For now, my assistant sits close and lets me take my time.

And something happened that I never could have imagined: people around the world began loving me. They saw my little face, called me Pooh Bear, and kept coming back to ask how I was doing.

Strangers cared whether I was hurting. Whether I had eaten. Whether I was still here.

I wish my life had mattered that much to you.

You left behind a cat who would have curled up beside you, greeted you at the door, and loved you through ordinary days you might never remember.

I almost lost every one of those days before someone else gave me a chance.

Please, don’t make us part of your family if you’re willing to leave us behind. We don’t understand when being yours suddenly ends. We still need food, comfort, and someone to keep us safe. If you cannot keep us, please help us reach someone who can.

The world calls me Pooh Bear now.

I wish being your cat had been enough to keep me safe.

I Had Hoped Pa Fasoranti Would Be Around To Witness My 2nd Term — Pres Tinubu Mourns the death of Afenifere Leader at 100

President Bola Tinubu has mourned the passing of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing the late elder statesman and Afenifere leader as a symbol of integrity, principle and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

In a personally signed statement, Tinubu described Fasoranti as “our father, patriarch, elder statesman, and foremost Afenifere leader.”

He said: “I commiserate with the Fasoranti family, the good people of Akure Kingdom, the government and people of Ondo State and South-West Nigeria, and the entire Afenifere family.”

Tinubu added: “Pa Fasoranti was an icon, a beacon of principle, and one of the last great titans of Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s progressive family.”

The President said Fasoranti’s century-long life exemplified integrity, discipline, selflessness and commitment to the Yoruba people and Nigeria’s unity.

“From his days as an educationist and principal, to his stewardship as Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State, and later as the leader of Afenifere, Baba never wavered in his belief in true federalism, social justice, and a Nigeria that works for all,” he said.

“Baba made immense contributions to this country and, at the risk of his life, fought for the democracy we enjoy today.”

Tinubu also praised his disciplined lifestyle, principles and dedication to noble causes, saying the country would miss his “voice of wisdom, moral authority, and fatherly counsel.”

Recalling Fasoranti’s 100th birthday on May 11, Tinubu said: “He lived a fulfilled life and left indelible footprints in the sands of time.”

The President further recalled visiting Fasoranti in Akure in 2022 to inform him of his presidential ambition.

“Pa Fasoranti told me I would be President in his lifetime, and God answered his prayer,” Tinubu said.

He added that he had hoped the elder statesman would live to witness his second term and the country’s economic growth and prosperity.

“But we must thank God for Pa Fasoranti’s long life of service, grace and fulfilment,” the President said.
