STATION CLERK ALLEGEDLY ROBBED OF OVER $100,000 IN STATION FUNDS — CCTV RAISES QUESTIONS

Information received is that a station clerk attached to the Besson Street Police Station was tasked with taking more than $100,000 in station funds to the Treasury for deposit.

According to the information received, upon arriving at the Treasury, the clerk reportedly saw a line and decided to return to the police station with the money.

She subsequently claimed that she was robbed of the funds by a suspect.

However, the matter reportedly took a different turn after CCTV footage was reviewed. The footage allegedly showed the clerk handing the money directly to the individual identified as the alleged robber.

Investigations are reportedly ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the missing funds and the allegations made by the station clerk.
