Goodbye, our little pea. Rest in peace, somewhere on a cloud that feels like a comfy couch.
We are heartbroken. How is it possible for humans to fall so deeply in love with their pets?
We never considered having a cat until
@anastasiaeggers asked us to care for Catchita back in June 2020. She felt home from the very first second and for us it was love at first sight. We began joking, “What if we just keep her?” By the end of her stay, it turned into “Do you think we could ask Asia if we can keep her?” We were still joking, but finally, I mustered the courage to say, “We’ve fallen in love with her and could picture keeping her, especially since you travel so much.” A few days later, Asia said, “I think it’s best if she stays with you.”
@michel_pieczynski and I were over the moon.
She was the cutest orange cat we could have imagined— tiny at just 2 kilograms, with soft, delicate features. No scratching, always ready for cuddles, purring like a tractor, and there for us when we were sick or down. She was loving, extremely gentle, never mischievous, and so talkative with her quirky little voice.
The last few weeks with her have been exhausting, with little sleep and many doctor’s appointments. Watching her lose energy, feeling so unwell, and suffering was heartbreaking until she finally left us on November 1st. She turned approximately 18 years old - we never knew her exact age.
What remains is our grief and the cherished memories of more than five fluffy years with someone who always made our home cozy and warm. Thank you for choosing us. We miss you deeply 💜🐈
