New details in the Nolan Wells case.

Nolan Wells’ family has released a 292 page analysis of his phone, compiled by forensic firm Garrett Discovery, showing messages from 29 group chats his friends were in after the 18 year old disappeared from Mississippi’s Horn Island on the Fourth of July.

The messages show his friends asking where he was overnight and questioning why he would stay behind without his phone. One friend wrote that there was “definitely some sus” going on. As police started contacting them, one advised the group to ask for an attorney if questioned, saying it didn’t mean they were guilty. Others wrote “Only facts,” “just stick to what you know happened” and “We have nothing to hide.”

On July 14, one friend suggested going to Nolan’s funeral with “all our other Black friends to prove a statement for the media.” Another said they should ask his mother first.

The forensic expert behind the report has said missing Snapchat messages were unsent remotely by other users, not deleted from Nolan’s phone.

In September, a grand jury unanimously declined to indict anyone, said his death was consistent with drowning and called the allegations against his friends “public clamor and private malice.” The official cause and manner of death remain undetermined, and his family is still calling for a federal investigation.

Rest in peace, Nolan.

i wanted a bedroom that felt a little dark. a little romantic. maybe even a little seductive. somewhere to disappear for a while and preferably lose track of time.

a 19th-century coromandel chinoiserie lacquer screen sits behind the bed with a painting by john kelly hanging in front of it. leaf fall from my new chelsea collection with @beni_rugs underfoot and @elitisfrance wrapping the walls. works by leonard baby and kate spencer stewart. and i’m especially grateful to @joesheftel for helping me collect art i love and for encouraging me to trust my instincts. even the questionable ones.

a room for dreaming. among other things. 🏺

WHAT THE F…

For a long time it has been all about recovering and getting back to where I was. Lately that had finally shifted. I was faster, I improved, and I felt better on my skis than I had in a long time. More importantly, I was having more fun on skis than I’d had in years.

Then this happens. It’s brutal, and it’s hard to accept.

I’ve never been one to feel sorry for myself. My parents taught me to focus on solutions: if you can change something, do it. If you can’t, accept it or let it go.

Let’s be clear: right now, I’m gutted, angry and frustrated. I need a bit of time to process it.

What’s different this time is that I have a clear rehab roadmap, and that helps. It won’t be easy, but I’ll focus on what I can control and lean on the people who have my back.

Thank you for all the messages. They mean more than you know

I’ll keep you posted 💙
