Madurai-based creator Veeramani’s request for Diwali sweets took an unexpected turn after he shared his address online, hoping to receive sweets from his followers. Instead, strangers reportedly flooded him with unwanted cash-on-delivery orders for expensive electronics and appliances, with one order involving a tanker reportedly worth ₹70 crore. The incident turned his small request into chaos as deliveries began arriving without his consent. After the story gained attention, Instamart stepped in with a Diwali surprise for Veeramani. The platform sent him gifts without any cash on delivery ayment, including a mobile phone, PC, projector, induction cooker and ofcourse, the sweets he had originally asked for. The gesture came through Instamart’s Quick India Movement Sale, turning a very unreal online episode into a marketing campaign. The incident also highlights how sharing personal details publicly can expose people to misuse, while Instamart’s response gave Veeramani a more cheerful ending to an otherwise unexpected Diwali experience.
