Happy Birthday to our Thanksgiving baby, Royal! 🎉🦃 Seven years ago he decided to make his grand entrance while we were hosting a house full of people and before we knew how the Cowboys game was going to end. And because I was convinced I was not in active labor (Black Friday stroller/car seat combo deals wait for no one), I waited until the last possible minute to head to the hospital. He was born 10 minutes and 3 pushes after arriving.

Royal has always been uniquely him—creative, curious, and endlessly imaginative. I’m fully convinced these qualities are the foundation for greatness.

To our friends and family: please continue to pray our strength as parents and also pray for the structural integrity of our home. May it survive many more “science experiments,” inventions, discoveries and whatever other bright ideas come to Royal at 6:08 on a Saturday morning.

We love you so much, Royal. Here’s to another year of wonder, growth and joyful chaos. 💙💙💙
