Feeling so grateful this morning! Thank you to @yourmorning for having @alicialoveread and I on to chat about the rapidly growing world of vertical microdramas; one of the most exciting new intersections of entertainment and tech.

We were thrilled to share what’s been happening here in Vancouver: from the rise of short-form scripted storytelling to the incredible momentum our local community has built. In the past two years alone, our Vancouver creatives have generated an estimated $54 million in microdrama production and the industry globally is on track to grow from $7B in 2025 to a projected $14B in 2026.

What I love most is seeing more original Canadian IP emerging. With 10–25 microdrama projects filming in Vancouver at any given time, this format is creating real opportunities for actors, writers, filmmakers, and crew right here at home.

Microdramas may be short 1.5- to 2-minute episodes stacked into a full hour of story, but the impact they’re having on our industry is anything but small. At @typeehmedia we are honoured to help champion this growing sector and to keep pushing for Canadian voices, Canadian jobs, and Canadian stories in this new medium.

Thank you again for having us. Such a joy to share what our community is building together.

💯 Microdramas are such a powerful playground for actors and filmmakers. The pace forces you to get intentional, creative, and precise with every moment. I just wrapped playing a villain in one, and it honestly reminded me why this format is one of the best ways to sharpen the craft today.
