Aloma is a type family designed for both text and display purposes. It draws inspiration from the novel "Aloma" by Catalan writer Mercè Rodoreda, published in Barcelona in 1938. The initial design concepts were influenced by Deco magazine headlines and lettering, as well as the principles of the Catalan Noucentisme movement. Aloma features a Neoclassical style with classical Roman proportions, though some letters exhibit intentional inconsistencies. This type family is primarily intended for editorial design, such as magazines and catalogs, with a focus on titling. The typefaces’ shapes and contrasting outlines make them particularly striking for headlines and short introductory texts, enhancing their visual appeal.
