Of course the gov is using โde-riskingโpension funds to raise capital for investment of infrastructure and by making these โlower riskโ other investors will get on board. Unfortunately we need to raise a shit ton of capital and our pension funds hold that. Is there some risk. Yes. Is it worth it. I think so given we are fighting for our very sovereignty and democracy against an aggressive neighbour who wants our resources. Whatโs the alternative? Lay down and become Puerto Rico? Have zero voting rights. You canโt eat money or drink gas. The Conservatives are too far right (Separatists in BC and Alberta) with US type policies. Make more Money by using Open widespread Corruption. Gut social funding and benefits. People who donโt make the cut will suffer without any healthcare or pension. There is possibility of corruption with Brookfield increasing in value but if Carney was into that he couldโve stayed in the Biz world of America and made tons more money.
