A birthday night to remember. Together 🫂⚪⚫

It was an absolute thrill to honor my friend Ben Bennett, (@ben_bennett) Founder and CEO of @thecenterbrands as “Beauty Company of the Year” at last night’s @wwd Global Fashion Awards. I like to refer to Ben as a “beauty brand whisperer” or aka “Beauty’s Billion Dollar Man” but he’s so much more than his extraordinary success stories. He’s a visionary, an exemplary champion of women, and simply, a class act. His tenacity, integrity and intuition is only matched by his humility. I was so proud to witness the camaraderie of his fellow co-founders - a group of dynamic women that are as reflective of his values as he is of theirs. Here’s looking at you Ben and some of the most exciting brands and founders deserving of all the flowers. 💐 @naturium : founder @susanyara @saltair : founder @iskra @phlur : founder @chrisellelim @prequelskin founder @drsamanthaellis @cyklarofficial : founder @claudiasulewski @properhealthofficial : founder @amandakloots @makebeautyofficial founder @carrie_barber @boscia : founder @dr.mamina
Stocks have done their worst under one political combo, and we might be about to get it. Since 1932, the S&P 500 has averaged about 13% a year when Republicans controlled the White House and all of Congress. When a Republican president faced a Democratic or split Congress, that fell to just 5%, the lowest of all six combinations. With the midterms on Tuesday and Democrats favored to win the House, that’s the setup we could be heading into. Before anyone panics, remember that the 5% comes from only a handful of two-year stretches, and every combination still averaged a positive return. Historically, selling around an election has hurt investors more than the results have. You don’t have to watch every election result.
