We don’t understand the concept of freedom, yet we spend our whole lives chasing it.
We don’t understand the concept of happiness, yet we demand it in every breath.
We don’t understand the concept of love, yet we go to war in its name.
We don’t understand the concept of giving, yet we take everything within our reach.

Maybe the tragedy isn’t that we lack understanding,
but that we seek without learning, want without appreciating, ask without offering.
We crave what we cannot define, we destroy what we claim to protect.

Freedom, happiness, love, generosity,
none of them live in the mind, they live in action.
When we begin to live these words instead of chasing them,
only then will we understand what they truly mean.
