The CIA and Khomeini’s 1979 Return to Iran: A Controversial Account

A controversial account claims that the Shah’s intelligence service had plans to shoot down Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s plane before it landed in Iran in 1979.

According to the speaker, the CIA intervened by contacting an individual identified as Sadeghzadeh and asking for Khomeini’s trip to be delayed by three days to ensure his safe arrival.
