Happy New Year Kick Assers. 2025 was a mixed bag of love, magic and trauma.

The state of our democracy and the values we claim to hold dear continue to concern me and motivate me to keep showing up in love… but what a fucking gauntlet, am I right?

But where there was magic and love in 2025 it was DEEP. Thank you to my community of family, chosen family, and friends (old and new) who laughed, screamed, cried, and sighed with me through this past year.

What 2025 taught me was that community is our greatest asset. It holds our democracy together, helps us realize and remember our power, and glues our hearts back together after trauma, loss, and grief.

This is what I’m taking with me into 2026- an unapologetic heart that will continue to build space for connection and belonging… because in the end- what I’ve learned from this past year is, that’s really all we have that can save us.
2025 laid bare the truth about love in all its heartbreak and beauty… so 2026, I’m meeting you with this wisdom. Let’s see where we go from here.
