Schmitz brings 27 years of service with the Lenexa Police Department to his role as chief of police, where he will lead a team of nearly 150 sworn and civilian personnel and serve as a member of the City of Lenexa’s executive leadership team.

Schmitz is the fifth individual to serve as Lenexa’s police chief, succeeding Chief Dawn Layman, who retired from Lenexa following a distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement.

Stewardship over Ideology Western institutions have drifted toward a global‑administrative model that prioritizes ideological coherence and transnational norms over local capacity, civic cohesion, and democratic accountability; these conditions cannot coexist under liberty and justice. Across many Western institutions, from international organizations to local districs, there’s a clear alignment around policy which emphasize open borders, ideological and identity driven priorities, and global cooperation. These policies often degrade national sovereignty and create conditions where rapid population inflows outpace institutional capacity. When public safety concerns emerge, ideological commitment and divisive rhetoric tend to increase, which reduce transparency and makes it harder for the public to understand the full impact. The result is a pattern where communities experience civic unrest while institutions remain committed to the same policy line. The physical pressures created by unmanaged migration become the most visible layer of a broader institutional alignment. Additional areas of concern include loss of free speech, K12 ideological indoctrination, online radicalization, food‑system policies with questionable viability, and environmental policies with high administrative overhead. We welcome diverse cultures, but not harmful doctrine. We protect freedom of belief, but not practices that violate rights. We respect differences, but not ideologies that reject pluralism. Peaceful coexistence requires a shared civic baseline, and that baseline is non‑negotiable. Support leaders who prioritize accountability, stewardship, and loyalty to the American people, over those with ideologies or who use race to divide.
