Halle Berry’s Son Can Testify Against Her in Abuse Dispute, But There’s a Catch Blogged by: Grace L. A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Halle Berry’s 13-year-old son, Maceo, can testify in court as the actress continues her heated custody battle with ex husband Olivier Martinez. The decision comes after Martinez accused Berry of physically abusing their son, allegations the Oscar winning actress has firmly denied. According to court documents, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shelley Kaufman approved Maceo’s participation but placed specific restrictions on what he can address. “The minor child is permitted to testify,” Kaufman stated, according to Page Six. “Testimony by the minor child shall be limited to the request for the issuance of a restraining order,” the judge added. The ruling marks a significant development in the Halle Berry custody battle, which has intensified following allegations involving an incident on September 26, 2026. However, allowing Maceo to testify does not establish whether the accusations against his mother are true. Kaufman also ordered that “The minor child shall not be coached.” His testimony will take place inside a closed courtroom, with only the parents, attorneys, and court personnel permitted to attend. The restraining order hearing is scheduled for October 16. Martinez, 60, requested the restraining order on October 1 after alleging that Berry, also 60, attacked Maceo during a disagreement involving a virtual reality video game. In his filing, Martinez claimed Berry jumped on their son, placed her hands around his neck, and choked him. The court subsequently granted a temporary restraining order and modified the family’s custody arrangement. Martinez is seeking sole custody and maintains that Maceo should be allowed to explain his experience directly to the judge. “Given that our son is 13 years old, I believe it would certainly be in his best interest for him to address the court at this time,” Martinez stated in documents reported by Page Six.
Enzo Maresca on City’s defeat vs PSG: 🗣️ “Even with 0-3 first-half, I think with the amount of chances we created in the second-half, we deserved something more.” 🗣️ “And Luis [Enrique] was quite honest [with me] at the end of the game. He said, ‘We [PSG] have been quite lucky today!’” 🗣️ “It’s been a bit strange because we conceded two in two minutes, and I think we lost a little bit the balance. And then second-half, it was completely a different game.” [TNT Sports] Did City deserve to win this game?

NYT flies some guy in from Cincinnati, parks him with Meth Camp Mike for a couple days, and he comes back saying Denver solved homelessness. 🙄 German Lopez saw the tiny homes and the hotel rooms bought with one-time federal cash, rode along on a morning patrol, and decided the 64% drop in unsheltered counts means every other city should copy this. What Lopez actually watched was the city spending HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS to relocate people into low-barrier hotel rooms with zero rules. Sure, street homelessness numbers will go down when you move the problem indoors but that’s not a solution. The people still cycling through this system are mostly deep in addiction to meth and fentanyl, and/or dealing with serious mental illness. An apartment key doesn’t fix that. It just relocates the drugs, the crime, the overdoses, and the chaos into buildings or onto the next block. Neighbors around these sites have been documenting this while the mayor’s office keeps pointing at the PIT count and cherry picking stats. But…Lopez didn’t stay long enough to see any of that. Housing First without accountability is just a try-to-hide-the-problem program. No consequences means no pressure to get treatment or be a productive member of society. The article even admits the remaining street population needs the kind of intervention progressives hate, and that the money is running out. Enforcement only ramps up when election season hits. The rest of the time it’s warnings and an ask to “move along.” Lopez got the gaslighters’ official tour. The rest of us have the video evidence. Copying Denver’s model just spreads the same expensive failure. Do better, @nytimes
