Still reeling over my trip to Australia that I took over Thanksgiving 2025! 🇦🇺 I spent some time in Melbourne with friends and then some time in Sydney on my own, and both legs of the trip were perfect! 🦘
It was incredible to meet my longtime friend @will.aj.stevenson and his amazing girlfriend @tarnia_shepp in person for the first time. They took great care of me, acting as my own personal tour guides in Melbourne and showing me the Dandenong Ranges, Queen Victoria Markets, Go-Buckets, all the Australian snacks I could ever want (except Vegemite...), Sushi Hotaru, and more. Thank you so much, and I can't wait to see you guys again. 💜
And my few solo days in Sydney were full of time spent outside (at Bondi Beach, Harbour Bay, the Botanic Gardens, and Blue Mountain National Park) as well as an incredible show by @kinggizzard at the Sydney Opera House (with the Sydney Symphony)! I couldn't have asked for a better way to close out the trip. 🤘
Getting to see the fauna of southeastern Australia was also incredible in its own right: kangaroos, koalas, cockatoos, wombats, ibises, dingos, emus, kookaburras, wallabies, and more. The animals there are so unique, beautiful, and unmatched. 😍
I had an amazing time and I look forward to getting back out there someday! 💕

Last night, Michael Stipe sang R.E.M.’s “E-Bow The Letter” and his Big Red Machine collab “No Time For Love Like Now” with the National’s Matt Berninger and Aaron and Bryce Dessner. It was part of AB100, a two-day festival celebrating the Dessners’ 50th birthday in the Basque region. Stipe hadn’t performed “E-Bow,” originally recorded with Patti Smith, in 17 years. Last week he said his long-awaited debut solo album will come in 2027, with the first single dropping minutes into the new year.
