The Best Toothpick Dispenser

I've wanted to try making a dispenser that releases one toothpick at a time when pressed.
Many designs use springs, but this one uses magnetic repulsion instead.
The hardest part was positioning the small piece that pushes the toothpicks upward. I wasn't sure exactly where it should go, so I tested how it worked and found the right position through trial and error before gluing it in place.
One interesting discovery was that it dispenses toothpicks more consistently when there are a reasonable number of toothpicks inside rather than when it's nearly empty.
The mechanism may look complicated at first, but the basic design is surprisingly simple. If you like the idea, give it a try!

ENERGY

What’s something that your parent said to you as a kid that still lives in your head? Now that I’m a parent, I think about how the words we say in ordinary moments can stay with our kids long after we’ve forgotten saying them. I’m trying to speak to my kids the way I wish someone had spoken to me. With patience, kindness and room to make mistakes. I hope the voice they carry with them reminds them they’re loved, even when they’re struggling. ❤️

I’d go back tomorrow🎰🥂🪩
