I’ve returned to Gilead again and again over the years because of the way Marilynne Robinson finds meaning in the seemingly ordinary moments of our lives.

For A Great Book, my friend @TomHanks joined me to revisit the novel and talk about faith, fatherhood, mortality, and what it means to slow down and appreciate the time we have with the people we love.

I hope you’ll listen to our full conversation on A Great Book with Barack Obama, a new podcast from @Audible and @HigherGroundMedia.

Corruption Exposed!

After more than a decade shaping Moroccan hip-hop as one half of Shayfeen, Shobee stepped out on his own when the duo split in 2021, and the solo run has been deliberate rather than rushed. His 2023 debut album HOWLS marked his first real statement as a standalone artist. Since then he’s kept a measured pace, dropping singles like “Machi M3ana” and collaborations rather than flooding the market, treating every release as something worth waiting for he’s said there’s more on the way, with fans wondering whether the next drop is another album or something bigger, i guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggests American @washingtonpost journalist @heidi_levine is lying about being assaulted and kicked by Israeli settlers.

He said “footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual.”

“The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence.”

“We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria.”

Levine told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah.

Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village of Abu Falah, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks.
