GOD IS SO LOVE, SO DARE TO HOPE

my jubilee year thru themes & lessons

context: drawing from Leviticus 25, the Church celebrates "Jubilee years" every 25 years — years of special graces, focusing on restoration, and in 2025, hope, in particular

u can imagine my confusion when i often felt disappointment & despair more than hope

the trenches were deep, long, frequent, & overlapping — many making me feel like my soul was going thru open-heart surgery, and i was conscious

at the same time, none of my crashouts felt complete

there was always a silver lining, a safety net, a Father's embrace

the rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted my peace, but it didn't collapse because it was set solidly on rock, on the unchangeable reality that He is Emmanuel, "God is with us" (cf. Matthew 7:24-25; Mt. 1:23)

by God's grace, thru every trench, i could cling onto the hope that "we who watch for that day/may inherit the great promise/in which now we dare to hope" (Preface I of Advent) — the hope that one day, i could experience The Eternal Summit, where "there shall be no more death or mourning" (Revelation 21:4)

even on this first day of 2026, the feast day of Mary, Mother of God, we hear our reason for hope:

"God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. As proof that you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, 'Abba, Father!' So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son then also an heir, through God." (Second Reading, Galatians 4:4-7)

"and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us" (Romans 5:5)

Jesus took on flesh & died for us to give us a second chance to redeem The OG Fumble, to become beloved sons & daughters of the Father — THIS IS JUBILEE.
