2025 was a shit show, but I did read some pretty great books, I must say. Here are my top 6 books of the year. Iβm proud that my favorites are a wide range of books, from historical fiction, to young adult fantasy, horror, queer, books by Asian and Latino authors. What a diverse stack, could be more, and I aim to diversify even more. The last picture is of course my favorite of the year Hamnet, because the book and movie wrecked me.
1. Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins
2. A Forgery of Fate by Elizabeth Lim
3. Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E Schwab
4. Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix
5. The Possession of Alba DΓaz by Isabel CaΓ±as
6. Hamnet by Maggie Oβfarrell
