WHY DOES IT TAKE LOSS?
Why does it take grief, sickness, or death
to force connection between family?
Why do we wait until pain shows up
to say what should’ve been said
and show love that should’ve been lived?
Funerals shouldn’t be reunions.
Loss shouldn’t be the reminder.
And smiles shouldn’t have to fight through tears
just to exist in the same room.
Love people while they’re still here.
Create memories before they become regrets.
Because connection shouldn’t be born from tragedy —
it should be practiced in life.
