Food noise, sugar cravings and bloating, even though you’re eating a high protein, low carb breakfast? 😩 I see this ALL THE TIME clinically. The same total energy (calories) can have very different effects on your blood sugar and energy depending on where those calories come from 💡 Your brain runs best on glucose, which mostly comes from carbohydrates. Fat and protein keep you full, but the energy they contain is released slowly. If your breakfast is mostly fat and protein, you can feel full but still be low on usable energy. If you exercise first thing, or are just busy through the morning, that can leave you searching for more food, especially sweet things, even if you’ve technically had enough fuel. This is the difference between total energy consumed and how available that energy is for your body to use. For many people, that looks like thinking about snacks by 11am, needing something sweet after lunch or mid-afternoon, or wanting to pick at food all day. A high protein, low carb diet is also often low in soluble fibre, or just skewed to slow transit foods, which will cause bloating, and grazing will make that worse.  Fat and protein both matter, but adding a slow-release carb like wholegrain toast, oats or potatoes gives your brain what it’s looking for, your energy levels stabilise, and cravings and food noise go quiet. Everyone’s needs are a little different, but if these issues feel constant even though you’re eating well, this simple change to breakfast can make a real difference. Getting to make a cake for the release of @disneyanimation Hexed #AD has been the highlight of my bakes this year!🪄✨What a fun movie! I can not get over how cute Beef Roger Crummchuck, the three eyed cat, is! I can’t wait to watch the movie in theaters this Thanksgiving and see if all my predictions for the plot are true! This cake is a midnight chocolate cake with a dreamy chocolate fudge frosting. The bottom tier is covered in green cake crumb moss. The figures and declarations are made of marzipan. The book has hand painted rice paper pages and gold foil. Everything you see is edible and totally yummy! A Magical bake - indeed! #disneypartner #bakersgonnabake #cakedecorating #bakersofig
52-Year-Old Oscar-Winning Actress Hilary Swank Announces She’s Expecting Her Third Child With Husband Philip Schneider Two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has announced that she is expecting her third child with her husband, entrepreneur Philip Schneider, three years after welcoming twins. The 52-year-old shared the news in a family video posted on Instagram on Wednesday. The clip showed three colourful stick figures dancing in the dark before a fourth joined them, with a tiny, glowing figure seemingly attached to its belly. “A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December,” Swank captioned the video. Swank and Schneider married in 2018 and welcomed their twins, Aya and Ohm, in 2023. She announced her twin pregnancy on Good Morning America in October 2022. “I’m so happy to share [the news] with you and with America right now,” she said at the time. “I’m gonna be a mom, and not just of one but of two. I can’t believe it.” In a 2025 interview with Women’s Health, Swank revealed that she froze her eggs at 37 and became pregnant with her twins a decade later, describing starting her family in her late 40s as “a magical time in my life, when it all culminated.” “It was the right time for a myriad of reasons,” she added. She also said she had become “much more patient” and “much more understanding” with age, adding that starting a family after establishing her career allowed her to “really sink in and be present” with her children.
