Thirteen-year-old Filipino weightlifter PrinceJhay Cuyson proved that strength and style can go hand in hand. Competing in the youth 55-kilogram category at HD Lift Off 2026, Cuyson successfully lifted 51 kilograms in the clean and jerk before celebrating with a hair flip and blown kiss that quickly gained attention online. He also recorded a 35-kilogram lift in the snatch. Organized by Olympic gold medalist @hidilyndiaz, the event served as a platform to showcase the talents of young Filipino weightlifters. According to Cuyson’s coach, the 13-year-old only started training in weightlifting in March and aspires to become an athlete who will make his family and the Philippines proud. Festivities have been building across North, Central and South America for the past week ahead of this year's Day of the Dead. The festival takes place on 1 and 2 November, but events from Mexico to Peru have been taking place already, including some stunning Catrina and Catrin at this year's F1 Grand Prix in Mexico City. Day of the Dead's origins lie with the Aztecs, an indigenous group of people who lived in the area that would become Mexico City, around 2,000 years ago. The Aztecs worshipped many gods and goddesses, including Mictēcacihuātl - a goddess of death and ruler of the Aztec underworld - Chicunamictlan. They believed that when a person died they made the journey to the depths of Chicunamictlan. Aztec people left offerings on altars, or ofrendas, that would help their dead relatives on their journey to the afterlife.
