I was praying for a miracle this morning. It didn’t come. 💔 I woke up hoping that another rescue had stepped up overnight. That maybe some of these five dogs at Devore Shelter had been saved. But all five are still there. All five are facing euthanasia without rescue. I’m willing to pull a few, but here’s the thing: I COULD SAVE ALL FIVE IF PEOPLE WOULD STEP UP TO FOSTER. I’m begging you. These are small dogs, roughly 12–26 pounds. They need somewhere safe to land, someone willing to open their home and give them a chance. These are the five lives hanging in the balance: 🐾 ROCIO — Female, 9 years old, 11.7 lbs Brown Chihuahua. A senior girl who deserves the chance to grow old in a loving home. 🐾 HERMONIUS — Male, 17.5 lbs Cream Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter. 🐾 ASLAN — Male, 2 years old, 25 lbs Gold Chihuahua. A young boy with his whole life ahead of him. 🐾 FLORITA — Female, 6 years old, 18 lbs Black Spaniel. A little girl who deserves so much more than this ending. 🐾 LEONIDAS — Male, 26 lbs Black Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter. All five are designated rescue only due to behavioral concerns in the shelter. They have also been exposed to parvo and require appropriate precautions. They are kenneled with other dogs and reportedly doing well together. I don’t need five people to adopt five dogs forever. I need people willing to give them a safe place to land while we work on their futures. We can handle the rescue coordination. We just cannot keep taking dogs without somewhere for them to go. Please, Southern California. Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange County. I’m begging you to consider fostering. 📍 Devore Animal Shelter — San Bernardino, CA APPLY TO FOSTER: compassionkind.org/foster If you cannot foster, please SHARE. If you can help financially with their care, please donate. Venmo: @compassionkind PayPal/Zelle: info@compassionkind.org I can save a few. With your help, I can save all five. Please don’t let their stories end here.

It’s not been the easiest of weeks on the workshop build - it turns out there’s a reason almost no one puts an apex roof on their DIY workshops / garden rooms 😅 - but I had some friendly faces (and more importantly helping hands!) keeping me company! I talk about the physical impact of doing renovations / garden projects / manual labour solo, quite a bit - but the mental impact can be just as hard some times! There was a moment this week where I sat on the floor of the workshop, staring up at the non existent roof and thought ‘I don’t think I can do this.’ That’s when you need people to pick you up off the floor and tell you to give it one more go. Thanks @wearekingingit for your help! (And to one of my excellent neighbours and his friends) - there is a chance this thing will get a roof before winter! 💪
