A cyclist’s worst nightmare 💭
Ajinkya Shinde, who is currently leading the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest, has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking information about the whereabouts of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, Co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. The three were detained by Delhi Police from inside their aircraft shortly after it landed in Delhi from Mumbai. Eleven hours later, CJP says it still doesn’t know about their whereabouts. In the letter, Shinde alleged that the leaders’ families had not been informed of their location and that their lawyers were being denied information. The party has demanded their immediate release, disclosure of where they are being held and access to legal counsel. The detentions raise questions about the right to peaceful protest and the freedom to express dissent, particularly when the demonstration was called to demand accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral roll irregularities. Meanwhile, environmentalist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk has warned that he may undertake a foot march to Delhi or begin a hunger strike if the detained leaders and opposition figures. CJP has also announced another march for tomorrow, October 11, at Jantar Mantar. As the party continues to demand answers over the detentions, questions remain over why a protest against the Election Commission has prompted such sweeping police action, and whether restrictions imposed in the name of public order are being applied in a way that limits the right to peaceful dissent.
Some dive in to save caps. 🫡 The crowd loved it when a volunteer jumped into the pool to retrieve a swimming cap at #Paris2024. 🏊👏 #Olympics
For Office Magazine in 2019, Solange filled out a questionnaire, answering everything from her favourite way to eat grits to who was on her radar. In the matching section, sex was “legendary,” Houston was “forever loyal,” the tour bus was “I love!,” Finsta was “lol,” and politics was “exactly.” She picked sugar and butter for her grits and, when asked if they could talk about Beyoncé, went with “Depends… but of course!” Her favourite Housewife of Atlanta was NeNe, with “wig” beside her name. Porsha got “Hennessy, sage, yoni, egg green,” Cynthia got “cheekbones bailey,” and Kenya got “Moore Manor is the best house on the show period.” She added “s/o She by Shereé.” Malcolm X or MLK? “Both them my ppls.” Movie or play? Movie. Wig or natural fro? “I want it all!!” Crab legs or wings? Wings. Dancing or singing? “Give it a rest!” Anita Baker or Diana Ross? “You tried it! I would neva!” Ass or titties? Ass. Cats or dogs? Cats. Indica or sativa? Indica. Beer or wine? Wine. Pizza or burgers? Pizza. Sunrise or sunset? Sunset. Lose power or lose control? “Loose Control.” Office Magazine or Shakespeare? Office Magazine. On her radar: Zolar Moon, Janicza Bravo, Jenn Nkiru, Frances Bodomo, Sandra Griffiths, Kristina Kay Robinson, A.B. Taz Angels, Mowalola, Sophia Yemis and Adeyano Ross. “Fuck, Marry, Kill” covered Atlanta, Girlfriends, Game of Thrones, The Cosby Show and Martin. For Atlanta, Earn was the kill choice, Darius the marriage choice and Paper Boi the remaining option. For Girlfriends, Joan was the kill choice, with “but id marry Tracee in a heart beat thats wife” beside her. Lynn was the remaining option and Toni the marriage choice. For Game of Thrones, Tyrion got “Who dis Hardo?” and Grey Worm got “I don’t know her,” followed by “mc voice s/o lambs.” The Cosby Show came with “jk, that one is already in order,” before she added that she was marrying Denise and “not fucking or killing neither dem.” For Martin, she chose to kill Martin and selected Gina and Pam for the other two options. For her self-portrait, she drew a tiny dot and labelled it “me.” @solangeknowles #solangeknowles #solange #musician #artist #solangediaries
