The decision to limit the Starshield satellite service used by Ukraine’s military came from inside the White House, according to two U.S. officials and a Western official briefed on the matter, speaking to Reuters. They said Defense Department leaders received a message that the service needed to be slowed. They did not say who in the White House sent it or who carried it out. A senior U.S. official told Reuters, “No such request was ever made by the president.” The White House did not answer whether other administration officials might have made it. A senior Ukrainian official said Kyiv made calls to the White House, State Department and Pentagon and was told it was a White House decision. Starshield is the military version of Starlink, built for government customers. Elon Musk wrote on X that because the government owns and controls Starshield systems, any limits are decided by the U.S. military or the president, Reuters reports. SpaceX did not respond to Reuters. Ukrainian officials say the restriction hindered strike missions against Russian forces and logistics in occupied territory and slowed interceptor drones used against Russian Shahed drones. A Ukrainian defense ministry source said Thursday that terminals now work in motion, but only up to 100 mph (160 kph). Rams Old Kicker Harrison Mevis • 6’0”, 245 lbs. Rams New Kicker Blake Grupe • 5’7”, 156 lbs. A massive change in LA. Harrison Mevis went from having the opportunity to be the hero to getting CUT by the Los Angeles Rams after their heartbreaking 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills. Mevis missed a 50-yard field goal earlier in the game before having his potential game-winning 48-yard attempt blocked in overtime. After everything Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense did to keep Los Angeles alive, watching their kicker fail to deliver in such a massive moment was absolutely brutal. What makes this situation even crazier is how quickly everything fell apart for Mevis. Just last season, he was making clutch kicks and helping the Rams win important games, but this year has been a completely different story. He made just five of his nine field goal attempts through five games, and Sean McVay made it clear after Monday night’s loss that the kicking situation wasn’t good enough. Less than a day later, reports emerged that the Rams were moving on from him. The NFL is genuinely a ruthless business, especially when you’re a kicker. One moment you’re being celebrated for winning games, and the next you’re looking for another team because you couldn’t deliver when it mattered most. Mevis certainly wasn’t the only reason Los Angeles lost, but his struggles became impossible to ignore. The Rams reportedly decided to bring in Blake Grupe, officially signaling that they had seen enough. Follow US (@jukedly) to stay locked in if you love sports! 🔥
