This is SUCH a good video to make!! I’m going into nursing school and have been going betwren which to choose and do I want to do med afterwards so it’s reslly good to have some of the main differences laid out (and busting some of the myths about nursing vs med!). Thank you!

Thank you for this. On some forums so many people say it’s “embarrassing” to mention anything related to being an RN or how it doesn’t help at all when applying to medical school and studying medicine. I am a big fan of your work! Please keep going and keep sharing your thoughts❤️

I am in NP school currently and while it still uses the nursing model, I really focuses more on the biochemistry of disease and treatment a LOT more, I love it. So for example, in nursing school you will wave by the clotting cascade and where warfarin acts on it. In NP school, I need to know the action of vitamin K epoxied reductase, what it activates (GGT) and which clotting factors (in addition to Protein C and S) are inhibited etc etc. It might sound like it’s not important but for one it’s interesting and for two it’s good understand when choosing different anticoags to place a patient on.

I did the opposite, went to medical school got the degree and now I’m in nursing school. The information has been the same up to a certain point. As a doctor you have to know more how to diagnose and get into a bit more details within each pathology as well as knowing many other conditions. BUT I have been amazed at how much information nurses need know that doctors also do know. 🔥

A Nursing diagnosis tells the body’s response to the actual disease. Also thank you for this insight I’ve been really considering going to med school after I get my nursing degree and this was cool information! Good luck to you girl❤️
