A few things I do to recharge 🤍 It started as a simple entry in my journal: What do I want to prioritize in the months ahead? I turned it into a little 90-day reflection exercise to help me find clarity, set meaningful goals, and make the most of the rest of the year. If you’d like to try the same exercise, comment JOURNAL and I’ll send it your way ✨ xx Sharon

Watching Instagram reels, playing music on loudspeaker or talking loudly on the phone during a train journey could now land passengers in serious trouble. Southern Railway has issued a directive warning that travellers who disturb fellow passengers through excessive noise may face fines, removal from trains and even imprisonment. According to reports, the directive invokes Section 145(2) of the Railways Act, 1989, amended through the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026. The provision covers passengers creating a public nuisance inside trains or on railway premises, including those playing videos, music or other audio on speaker mode. Passengers found causing such disturbances can be fined ₹1,000, removed from railway premises and have their tickets or passes forfeited. However, those who continue creating a nuisance despite being instructed to stop by an authorised railway official could face simple imprisonment of up to six months, a fine of up to ₹5,000, or both. Southern Railway has also authorised ticket examiners and other eligible commercial officials to impose penalties. Railway divisions have been instructed to display notices and make announcements in Hindi, English and regional languages, informing passengers about the consequences of disturbing others. The move follows growing complaints about passengers watching reels, films and videos without earphones, playing loud music and engaging in lengthy phone conversations, particularly inside enclosed air-conditioned coaches. Similar concerns had prompted the Railway Board to issue guidelines on mobile phone etiquette back in 2012. Importantly, the directive does not prohibit watching reels, listening to music or making phone calls altogether. Passengers can continue using their phones normally, provided they do not disturb others.
