🥣❤️ Comment CROCKPOT and I’ll send you all 5 high protein crockpot recipes for FREE.

Busy nights are usually when dinner gets skipped, thrown together, or turns into takeout.

That’s why I love crockpot meals for midlife women.

They make it easier to get enough protein, stay fuller longer, support steadier blood sugar, and have something ready before the evening hunger hits.

If dinner is the hardest meal of the day, this is a simple place to start.

Richard Meier completed the Douglas House in Harbor Springs, Michigan, in 1973. Commissioned by James and Jean Douglas, the four storey residence occupies a steep, wooded slope overlooking Lake Michigan.

The house is approached from the road by a narrow, 43 foot bridge connecting to an entrance at roof level. From here, the interior descends through four floors, with bedrooms, a double height living room, dining spaces and exterior decks arranged towards the lake. Internal and external staircases connect the levels, while extensive glazing opens the western elevation to the surrounding trees and water.

The two principal facades have different treatments. The eastern elevation, facing the road, is clad in white painted redwood with square openings and narrow horizontal windows. The western elevation uses large glass panels, projecting balconies and exposed staircases to provide views across Lake Michigan.

The Douglases originally approached Meier after seeing his Smith House, completed in Connecticut in 1967. Their initial site was rejected after a homeowners association objected to the proposed white exterior. The subsequent waterfront location allowed Meier to develop the house around its unusually steep terrain.

How does entering a house at its highest level change the relationship between its rooms and the surrounding landscape?

Would you prefer the enclosed, private elevation facing the road or the extensively glazed side overlooking the lake?

It’s a good night to live twice, don’t you think?

Thank you @omega for a beautiful night with @007, Spectre, and other killer company

Tatty often comes to this old tree when he wants somewhere quiet to read. He doesn’t know exactly why he feels so peaceful here. Perhaps some places simply feel as though they have known us forever. 🍂

Long before Tatty ever sat beneath its branches, other little bears came here too. They fell in love. Raised families. Said goodbye. Came home again. Children played among its roots, treasures were hidden and found, and names were carved into its bark by paws that believed their moments would last forever.

Years passed. The names softened. The faces changed. New little paws touched the same old tree without ever knowing who had been there before them.

And still, the tree remained.

Today, Tatty closes his book beneath those same branches, unaware of all the lives that once unfolded exactly where he sits. And one day, perhaps another little bear will sit there too.

Some places remember us, even when we no longer remember who came before. 🍂🧸

Do you have a place that has always felt special to you? Tell us about it below. I’d love to hear the story it holds. 🤎
