“It is better to do your own duty imperfectly than to do another’s duty perfectly.” (Bhagavad Gita 3.35)

Most of us were taught the opposite.

In the Bhagavad Gita, svadharma is the concept that teaches us to act in accordance with our own nature — our skills, gifts, and responsibilities. It is not moralistic or imposed by societal norms. And it’s not an ego trip, nor a refusal to explore or evolve through our shadows.

This thread carried across oceans for me through the Mayan teachings Tata Alejandro @1ukush shared last year. He explained that when we live in alignment with our Mayan cross, when we understand our energies and purpose in the world, we bring balance to ourselves and to the world around us.

Tracing these teachings across peoples and time, the threads that weave us together are silver thin and ever-present. Calling us back to authenticity, to being real, and to acting in alignment.

This is such a grounding reminder ✨ I love how you’ve woven the Mayan teachings into this too. Across cultures, the message echoes the same wisdom, when we act from our own nature, we don’t just feel more whole, we actually contribute more meaningfully.👏

🔥Amazing how this message is voiced in all cultures. It’s just for us to be a bit still (difficult endeavor) and listen to the voice of those gifts, purposes, of our true nature. Thank you 🙏
