An evening with mom

Steeped in caffeine and ocean running through the veins, we stare into that big blue body that leaves a trail of light strong with flavor and buzzing with concentration.

Soft heart and an open crown, as my hand holds hers filling our bellies with low tide fruit as sanderling scurry back and forth. Our shoes gently slip on the wet ground until we can’t help but feel the saturated vibrance against the flesh of our feet.

The light reverberates off the crown of her head as halo rings pulse outwards and forwards toward the sky. Cool, soft eyes in the front with a heated back, propelling forwards, downwards, seeping out the sides, alive in love—a mysterious friend, which we all long to be familiar with. It lives in the attention of detail, seeped in otherness, softened where the individual meets themselves, and strengthened by time—which makes for a generous, content, and satisfied heart.
