My heart is so full 🤍
Thank you to everyone who played a part in naming Jim Ned’s new agriculture complex after my heroes ❤️. This honor truly means more to us than I can put into words.
To me, they were Papaw and Dad/Pops. To most, they were Mr. Egger and Stan the Man. They devoted their lives to this community, to education, and to agriculture.
My grandfather spent 30 years as an ag teacher in Jim Ned and 10 years as an elementary principal, shaping generations of students — including my mother, father, aunt, brother, and myself. He also helped change the course of that program’s history when my mom, Nan Egger, and Kay Browning became the first two female ag students under his leadership.
My dad, a Jim Ned grad and Texas A&M alum, went on to serve 24 years as Taylor County Commissioner, while also giving his time to countless boards and community organizations — including the Jim Ned School Board, Taylor County Expo Board, and many other civic, agricultural, and community-focused groups.
Neither of them ever did what they did for recognition — they simply believed in showing up, working hard, and leaving things better than they found them.
The reality is that many in the Jim Ned Community today never had the chance to know them personally. That makes this honor even more meaningful. This building doesn’t just carry a name — it carries a story. A story of service, of agriculture, of education, and of loving a community enough to give your life to it.
On behalf of our entire family, THANK YOU for remembering them, for honoring their life’s work, and for helping keep their values — hard work, integrity, and service to others — alive for future generations. 🤍
