Leaked audio caught Ken Paxton admitting Trump and the GOP convention hurt his numbers. A new Fox News poll shows him down 7 to James Talarico and Trump’s Texas approval is upside down. John C. Moritz breaks down what the polls mean and whether Paxton can turn it around, only at the link in our bio. (Photo by Jay Janner/Austin American‑Statesman)
I never imagined my postpartum story would look like this. What started as bringing our last baby home turned into an emergency that changed my life forever. 3 weeks PP-I came frighteningly close to losing my life, excessively bleeding..unknowingly, my uterus wasn’t contracting inside which left me undergoing 3 emergency surgeries within 5 hours, coding blue, leaving my husband to make decisions for me and our family. I woke up having to process a reality I never expected. Thanks be to God for us leaving at the right time. I’m not sharing this for sympathy or for content. I’m sharing it because parts of these postpartum deserves to be talked about just as much as pregnancy and birth. And sometimes, these things aren’t talked about enough. We prepare women for labor, newborn life, breastfeeding and sleepless nights—but not nearly enough for the signs that something may be seriously wrong with our own bodies afterward. If sharing my story makes even one woman trust her instincts, recognize a warning sign, or seek help sooner, then being vulnerable about this is worth it. Perhaps my story can help protect & support another mother, too. 🤍 So thankful for my village..for keeping me strong, grounded, sane, and grateful 🥹🤍 There’s a road of recovery ahead unlocking a new level of healing in every way is my priority. One day at a time. & Lastly, thank you to the UCSD care team & God for listening to our prayers ❤️🙏🏽😭 Xo Angela D
