Since my dad’s passing in 2020, my sweet mother has walked the quiet, often lonely road of being a widow. I tried, as best I could, to be a comfort and help to her during these years.

Last night, February 17, 2026, she peacefully passed away and reunited herself with Dad.

I am so grateful that I was able to spend Monday morning through Tuesday evening by her side. What a gift that time was. I am even more grateful for her full and beautiful life.

She loved Jesus Christ and believed deeply in Heavenly Father. She taught me that Jesus is not distant — He is a personal friend. Her faith was steady and real.

She was a devoted wife to my dad and fiercely committed to her marriage. Her selfless devotion to others shaped who I am. She taught me how to serve — especially the “cancer sisters” in our Grandview ward. I remember working beside her, cleaning homes and delivering meals. She quietly showed me what Christlike love looks like.

She loved to give gifts. She canned, gardened, baked bread, and made the most incredible cinnamon rolls. She brought things to life — in her garden and in people. She loved fall colors, roses, and anything beautiful.

But mostly, she loved me. She always wanted the very best for me.

I am so grateful to have had such a sweet, tender mother.
