Follow me to cut through the hype 💎 Comment “links” to get my picks! Quince’s $50 cashmere is that sweater in the ads, and it’s the one most likely to disappoint if you expect a workhorse. These four share the same knit: Mongolian Cashmere Tee, $45 Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck, $50 Mongolian Cashmere V-Neck, $50 Mongolian Cashmere Cardigan, $80 I own and love the tee (sized up) and the cardigan (fitted, short sleeves I scrunch up – it’s a dainty piece). Buy them as light layers, not as your winter sweater. The light test: an LED panel inside each sweater, room dark. The denser the knit, the less light comes through. Loro Piana barely registered any light. The Quince tee let through about twenty times as much. But we’re not optimizing for fabric. We’re looking for sweaters to wear, so density is only half of it. Turn a sweater inside out and look where the sleeve seam meets the side seam. The Quince sweater that beat Banana Republic on density ranked much lower for the seam linking. A luxury brand delivering an airy knit would not mess this up. BR’s seams are engineered flat, second only to Loro Piana. Where each one belongs: Everyday basic → Uniqlo Affordable updates → Quince Oversized and similar knits Softest hand, bright colors → J.Crew Dressier, with real design → Banana Republic Send this to whoever’s about to order their first Quince. TNHT Staff: @YesThatsDee ______________ Neighbors, A 66-year-old Florida teaching assistant is facing child abuse charges after allegedly attacking a student with special needs at East Ridge High School. ______________ According to Law&Crime, Michael Anthony Jones allegedly told the student he was not allowed to use the word “gay.” Jones claimed the student then spit on him, prompting him to remove the child’s shoe and repeatedly strike him with it. ______________ Surveillance footage reportedly captured Jones hitting the student approximately four times, including twice on his bottom, once near his head and once on his arm. The student was also allegedly dragged across the floor by his feet. ______________ Even more disturbing, a second video recorded by another student reportedly showed the victim appearing frightened and backing away before Jones allegedly struck him again, knocking him to the ground. ______________ When questioned by deputies, Jones admitted using the shoe, reportedly stating, “Without question, I took his shoe off and spanked [him] with it.” However, he denied punching or pushing the student. ______________ Jones was arrested and charged with child abuse without great bodily harm and simple battery. He was released after posting an $11,000 bond. ______________ The school district confirmed Jones, who had worked there since 2008, would not be allowed back on campus and could face termination. Records also revealed he previously received a written reprimand in 2017 for inappropriate language around students.
