“People who love you for your usefulness don’t love you at all.”

I don’t think my words would be enough to describe how much I enjoyed The Knight and the Moth more than I expected to, and I had really high expectations for this book. Rachel Gillig has once again awed me with her storytelling.
Sybil, the main character, went through hell. It wasn’t enough that she literally drowned every time she had to divine, she had to go through the pain of seeing her Diviner sisters go missing one by one. I really admire Sybil. All that she’s ever known and believed slowly crumbled before her, yet that only made her even stronger.
Sybil’s romance with Rory was very slow-burn, which was chef’s kiss to me. There’s obvious tension between them in the beginning and it was so delicious to witness especially since Rory yearned so bad for her. I love that Rory supported Sybil in whatever she decided and was a great emotional support to her.
My favorite character, though, was the gargoyle. He had me cackling. He would appear in the most random moments, say his piece, and move on. He contributed greatly to how much I enjoyed this book.
My mistake was reading this book too early. What do you mean I need to wait for September to read the next book? Especially with how things ended? This is torture for me.
