the most peaceful few days away 🪵🍁🌞🤍

recently came back from a stay at an @unplugged.rest log cabin to celebrate my bf’s birthday and it was so so lovely.

a few days of complete quiet, time to unwind, away from screens (apart to take pics + vids) we spent the time playing games, having fires, watching all of the nature surrounding us, watching the most gorgeous sunsets and being in the hot tub.

the perfect start to october 🤍 by @chareids

we used to live here by marcus kliewer
4 stars ★ ★ ★ ★

our main character is home alone one night when her door knocks. it’s a man. he’s claiming he grew up in the house and would love to show his family around. but once they’re inside, everything starts to go wrong.

this is my biggest surprise of the year so far, i chose the audiobook on a whim (the audio is phenomenal) and devoured it within two days.

I believe this is a book you should go into knowing as little as possible to get the full experience so I’ll say this, the story definitely starts slowly but the feeling of dread is instant. it’s creepy, very atmospheric, and unsettling but I could not stop listening and once you’re past a certain point it’s like being on a rollercoaster which is only continuously going down.

the reason for this not being a five is due to the ending not being my favourite. It left me with more questions than answers but because I loved the rest so much I don’t feel it took too much away from my experience of reading this. so gripping, amazing for a debut novel and I highly recommend if you like a psychological / horror read. the perfect book to pick up this autumn 🕸️🤍 by @chareids

bookshelf tour: autumnal edition 🦇☕️🖤

this time of the year is without a doubt my favourite time to decorate the shelves ✨

and of course, my aftg special editions had to be the star of the shelves 🦊

autumnal shelves + some snippets of september so far 🍂☕️🪶🪵🤍

september has been super lovely so far, decorated my space for the season, went away for the weekend with my bf’s family, had lots of dog snuggles, spent time at the beach, had a cinema trip, baked cookies, lots of autumnal walks, unboxed my aftg books (still not over it) and browsed bookstores 📖🍁

I’m yet to read a book but tonight’s plan is to get cosy and start ‘spark of the everflame’ and I can’t wait 🙂‍↔️ by @chareids
