Ok okk, this is quite a unique rock formation that we don’t see in Vancouver 👀

This is Hsinchu’s “Tofu Rocks” (豆腐岩) and they exist for the same engineering reasons as river control structures

These concrete blocks slow the water down to protect riverbanks, nearby farmlands and general urban infrastructures.

Aside from its use cases, I found them visually appealing so I decided to fly my drone and capture some drone shots 🎥
